The Hol showing is located 14 kilometres west of Smithers Landing, or 2 kilometres southwest of the south end of Holland Lake.

Quartz monzonite, or granodiorite, and dikes of biotite feldspar porphyry, both of the Eocene Babine Intrusions, cut hornfelsed rhyolite tuffs, fragmental rocks and flows of the Saddle Hill volcanics, an informal division of the Lower to Middle Jurassic Hazelton Group (Geological Survey of Canada Open File 2322). Hornfelsed shales of the Kitsumkalum shale, an informal division of Lower Cretaceous Skeena Group, also outcrop in the area.

Chalcopyrite and pyrrhotite occur in, and disseminated within, fractures with quartz, K-feldspar and epidote cutting the intrusive rocks and to a lesser extent the Hazelton Group rocks. Trace amounts of molybdenite occur with the chalcopyrite mineralization, magnetite and specular hematite also fill fractures and pyrite is rare.

Work History

In 1973, the LUC Syndicate collected 307 soil samples and conducted a 9.6 kilometre induced polarization survey and 12.8 kilometres ground magnetic survey on the Hol claims (Assessment Report 4488). In 1974, the LUC Syndicate completed two diamond-drill holes (355.8 metres) on the Hol property. These were to test an induced polarization anomaly previously identified. The highest reported assay from the drill core was 0.04 per cent copper (Property File Placer Dome - Bacon, 1974).

In 2012, some soil sampling grids were completed east and northeast of Hol (Assessment Report 33499). An airborne magnetic survey was flown over the Silver Vista claim block on behalf of Amarc Resources Ltd. for a total of 4729 line-kilometres at a spacing of 200 metres (Assessment Report 33499). The area of the survey included the Hol.

In 2019, Pacific Empire Minerals consolidated 90 square kilometres of contiguous claims in the Babine copper-gold porphyry district into its Paragon copper-gold project (093M 020, 135, 145) after amalgamating its Wasp property and recently optioned Nilkitkwa property with six claims of newly staked ground.

See MR (093M 195) for details of the Silver Vista property and work done on that property.
